2007 Laguna de Chapala
Audubon Christmas Bird Count Results

Fifty-five volunteers participated in this year's Laguna de Chapala Christmas Bird Count (CBC) held on December 18. Topping last year's count by eight species, 125 species were identified and 3,430 individual birds were counted during this annual one-day event. Highlights included the black-throated magpie jay, orange-fronted parakeet, scrub euphonia, and red-breasted chat. In 2006, 29 species were identified that were not seen in 2007. In 2007, 35 species were identified that were not seen in 2006.
